When you put the power of love to work in your organization, you need courage certainly, because you will be pushing the envelope. And your success will be even greater when you are also audacious. Wisely and selectively audacious. 

Audacity goes beyond the expected into the realm of surprise and risk and excitement. It can push beyond boundaries that no longer serve and reveal new possibilities. It can also wake up people’s imagination.

The important thing is to be clear about your intention. If your intent is to uplift your people and company with your audacious act and you feel an inner knowing (see last week’s issue on knowing) that it is the right thing for the moment, then good. Do it. You are aligned with the energy of love. Otherwise, rethink it. If your intent is simply to provoke, frighten,  or get attention, that is probably unwise to pursue because it is not powered by love and may cause more harm than good.

5 Ways to Be Effectively Audacious as an Amare Leader

1. Be audacious in your vision. Vision is about seeing grand possibilities, and your view is unique. Don’t play small here. Trust in the power of love to help you envision the brightest future possible and share it, even if you need to scale back what parts of it you pursue. Imagine audaciously and believe in you!

2. Be audacious in uplifting others. How far can you go in uplifting your employees, your customers, and your other stakeholders? Consider practicing extreme leadership and extreme generosity as you come up with two or three audacious amare actions you can take that meet the “intention” criteria above and are, of course, ethical and legal.

3. Be audacious in fostering connection. Nothing is more central to being human than having connection with others. Actively look for ways to be of service by unselfishly fostering meaningful connections between people, even if you don’t get directly compensated for it. It will come back to benefit you bigtime.

4. Be audacious in your innovation. The whole point of innovation is to go beyond convention, push boundaries, and discover previously unseen possibilities. Put processes in place that inspire everyone to innovate, and reward audacious ideas across the enterprise.

5. Be audacious in being you. Be wholly 100% yourself, bring your best, and stand humbly in your greatness. Encourage your people to do the same. Imagine how that would uplift your business!
